“These things I have spoken to you in figurative language; but the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but I will tell you plainly about the Father. In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father for you; for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God. I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.” His disciples said to Him, “See, now You are speaking plainly, and using no figure of speech! Now we are sure that You know all things, and have no need that anyone should question You. By this we believe that You came forth from God.” Jesus answered them, “Do you now believe? The Promise of Rest

Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. FRIENDS AND FAM! Pray from home! The roads are really icy so 7:30a prayer is canceled at the South Beach Church Offices!

FRIENDS AND FAM VOTD! Man OH man! Does this verse take some real spiritual maturity and God given self control. Bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. Our flesh wants to react when people hurt us and there are many ways one can do damage. One may want to curse back or seek revenge but if we believe in the Lord, we are sons and daughters of a God who equips us with all the tools we need to combat evil with good. Jesus not only mentions being cursed and used in Luke 6 but physically hit. That if someone hits you on your cheek to offer your other cheek as well. Let’s take a moment to step back and envision that. You just got punched and are experiencing physical pain, emotional frustration, and are given an opportunity to respond. If you’ve ever been hit in the face there’s some real deep anger that often rears its head. This is where we need the strength of the Lord and obedience to react in love. Experiencing these things, depending where you’re at in your spiritual journey can have different responses. You may get used, cursed or hit and have compassion for the offense because Lord, they know not what they do. But if you’re still working on it then there’s good news! We are to pray for them and bless them. Seek this type of response. Love your enemies. Cling to Jesus! He is for you. He loves you.

Behave Like a Christian ❤️

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another. Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.

Proverbs 18:21, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue,” emphasizes the immense power of words, stating that our speech can bring either life (through encouragement, kindness) or death (through hurtful language and destruction) to others, making it crucial to use our words carefully and responsibly. The phrase “those who love it will eat its fruit” implies that our words will have natural outcomes based on how we use them. So as we go about our day seeking to live how the Lord intends us to, walking in the fruits of the Spirit, with our hearts that pour out words on our lips and tongue those that encourage, love, that are kind, give hope, show faith and speak truth may we speak life! Walking in the Spirit 🤍

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
